Prospective Students

Advanced Education and Graduate Programs

At Ohio State's College of Dentistry, we offer a range of programs beyond the DDS to prepare you for specialty clinical practice or a career in research and academia.

You can choose an MS/Certificate Program in one of the ADA recognized dental specialties, including endodontics, oral and maxillofacial pathology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics and prosthodontics. In addition, we offer an accredited advanced general dentistry program in dental anesthesiology and a general practice residency. These programs combine clinical experience with didactic courses. Depending on the program, you will receive a certificate of completion or specialty training and will be eligible to take specialty board examinations upon satisfactory completion.

The College of Dentistry also offers a non-degree postgraduate program, the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Internship, as well as Continuing Education programs.

A PhD degree is offered through the Oral Biology PhD Program, which can be integrated with advanced clinical training in any of the certificate programs, or through combined programs in biomedical sciences, neuroscience and biomedical engineering.
