Fees and Expenses
During the program you will spend much of your time in labs and clinics. There are additional costs associated with these educational experiences.
You should plan in advance for the cost of supplies, uniforms, lab fees and other expenses you will incur during your professional education.
Dental hygiene students pay the usual undergraduate fees. The table of fees by credit hour is available at Student Tuition and Fee Tables. Dental hygiene students should plan to be enrolled full time each autumn and spring semester and 6-10 hours in summer term.
Most clinic and laboratory supplies are purchased by the college and paid for from the instrument and lab fees that will be billed with your Ohio State tuition each semester. In addition, during your first semester you will need to purchase loupes, a blood pressure cuff and scrubs. The table below includes these expenses for the past year; these fees are subject to increase annually.
