Nomination Process

• The Dental Alumni Society (DAS) selects award recipients.
• Nominations must be submitted by Friday, July 31, 2026 using the online nomination form.
• Each nomination should include:
  • The nominee’s service to The Ohio State University College of Dentistry and the broader dental community
  • Honors and recognition, including national or international distinction.
  • Professional achievements
  • A brief statement explaining your inspiration for the nomination.
• Current members of the DAS Board of Governors are not eligible.
• Previous recipients are not eligible to receive the same award again.

Award Categories

Distinguished Alumni Award

Recognizes a graduate who exemplifies leadership, service, and commitment to advancing dentistry and dental health at the local, state, national, or international level. Nominees should demonstrate meaningful contributions in areas such as public service, organized dentistry, research, education, or service to the College.

Dental Hygiene Alumni Award

Honors a dental hygiene alumni who have made significant contributions to the advancement and growth of the dental hygiene profession through leadership, service, and innovation.

Young Professional Alumni Award

Honors alumni under the age of forty who have demonstrated significant professional achievement, enhance perception of the dental profession and/or service to the University or community.

Awards Presentation

The DAS Alumni Awards will be presented at the Alumni Reception during the ODA Annual Session:
Friday, September 18, 2026
5–7 p.m.
Hilton Columbus Downtown
