Dental Oncology Clinic

Our Dental Emergency Care Clinic is open for patients who are experiencing moderate-to-severe pain that is not relieved by taking pain medications, oral bleeding, and/or facial/oral swelling. Due to COVID-19, patient visitor restrictions apply

An important message for our Dental and Dental Hygiene Students’ and Residents’ Patients. Due to the rapidly spreading Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, our student dental clinics and specialty clinics will be closed through April 24. We will contact you to reschedule your appointment.

We are adhering to State and Federal agencies and CDC guidelines, including asking all patients about travel history or if they are experiencing any type of cold or flu-like symptoms. If you have traveled abroad to an area affected by COVID-19, have had close contact with a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 or are experiencing any type of flu-like symptoms such as fever, coughing, and shortness of breath, please help us maintain a safe environment for our patients by scheduling your dental appointment at a later date.

Please visit the OSU Wexner Medical Center’s Coronavirus page for recommendations about how to protect yourself and when to seek care.

Comprehensive care for cancer patients

Our clinic is the first of its kind, geared to comprehensive care for cancer patients. Your dentist, Dr. Matthew Messina, graduated first in his class at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry and was trained in hospital dentistry at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Messina has over 30 years of private practice experience in restorative dentistry. His focus is to minimize the risks of dental treatment for those patients who have undergone radiation treatment and/or bisphosphonate drug therapy.
