In the State of Ohio, dental hygienists are now able to practice under certain conditions (e.g., in nursing homes, head start programs) without the dentist present. Dentists and dental hygienists must apply for an OHASP permit and numerous requirements must be met for this to happen. This course will review all of the requirements necessary to obtain an OHASP permit and update the participants on the populations that can be treated as well as record keeping and infection control updates.

This program meets the requirements for dental hygienists and dentists to work collaboratively to treat persons in public health facilities under the Oral Health Access Supervision Program (OHASP).

This course includes four hours of self-paced coursework to be completed prior to the December 2nd classroom session.
