Adventure Awaits: 2-Month Dental Hygiene Clinical Opportunity in Hawaii!
Location: Kailua, Oahu, HI
Practice: Kailua Dental Care
Duration: August – September 2026 (Approx. 2 Months)
Are you an upcoming graduate looking for the ultimate "working holiday" to kick off your career? Kailua Dental Care is seeking a temporary/traveling Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team for two months!
Located in one of the most desirable coastal towns in Hawaii, our office offers a friendly, high-standard clinical environment in a world-class location.
The Perks:
Housing Included: Stay in a comfortable home within walking distance of the office.
Beach Lifestyle: Only an 8-minute walk to some of the most beautiful white-sand beaches in the world.
Transportation: Potential use of a vehicle included for exploring the island.
Licensure & Board Exams:
The Hawaii Board of Dentistry accepts major regional clinical exams (CRDTS, WREB, ADEX/CDCA, and SRTA). To practice in Hawaii, you must apply for a state license.
Licensing Tip: Local Anesthesia Requirement
A requirement for Hawaii licensure is certification in the administration of intra-oral infiltration AND block local anesthesia.
Good News: Most accredited programs include this certification in their standard curriculum!
What you need: When you apply for your license, you will just need an official letter from your Dean or your transcripts to verify your clinical injection counts.
Simple Steps to Apply for your HI License:
Clinical & National Boards: Pass the NBDHE and your regional clinical exam.
Verify Anesthesia Training: Ensure your school can provide documentation for your infiltration and block anesthesia hours and injections.
Submit Application: Download the DH License Application from the Hawaii DCCA website.
Required Docs: Arrange for school transcripts, board scores, and your NPDB "Self-Query" report to be sent directly to the Board.
Timeline: Processing generally takes 45–60 business days, so we recommend starting your paperwork as soon as you have your clinical results!
How to Apply:
Reach out ASAP! Because the Hawaii licensing process can take a couple of months to finalize, we want to get the ball rolling early to ensure you're cleared to practice by August.
