Bridget Wright joined the College of Dentistry in 2015 as a Dental Hygiene and EFDA Instructional Aide in the Division of Dental Hygiene. From 2015-2019, she worked with third- and fourth-year dental hygiene students in clinical and preclinical courses and served as the interim Dental Hygiene Clinic Director. In addition to her time as an educator, she practiced dental hygiene and EFDA in a dental office in Dublin, OH. Currently, Professor Wright treats patients in the Geriatric and Oncology Dental Clinic one day per week. Professor Wright began a full-time faculty appointment in 2019. She is currently the course director undergraduate courses: Oral Anatomy, Tooth Morphology & Occlusion, Pain & Anxiety Management, Applied Pharmacology for Dental Hygiene, and EFDA pre-clinic and clinic courses. She teaches Advanced DH Sciences to the RDH to Bachelor of Science, Dental Hygiene students. She works with our Master’s students as a Thesis Advisor and/or committee member. Professor Wright is the recipient of the Class of 2020 & 2021 Student Government Association - Best Clinic Instructor award, the Class of 2024 SGA - Best Didactic Instructor award, and the Class of 2020 – Outstanding Instructor Award. Ms. Wright is DH Curriculum Committee Chair, Secretary of Sigma Phi Alpha - Zeta Chapter, member of Dental Hygiene Scholarship and Awards Committee and serves on multiple College of Dentistry and University level committees/groups. She is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association and serves as Delegate for ODHA and the Secretary for CDHA.
Ms. Wright's research interests include exploring dental professionals' role in screening for obstructive sleep apnea, caring for patients with a history of head and neck radiation, digital dentistry, ergonomic postures of dental professionals and improvement strategies, and management of sensitivity after the performance of nonsurgical periodontal therapy.
Clinical interests include fostering a positive learning environment where dental, dental hygiene, and EFDA students can develop the skills required to function as a team in practices throughout Ohio and beyond.
