Biography

Irina Novopoltseva is an Associate Professor within the Division of Dental Hygiene at the Ohio State University's College of Dentistry. With a diverse range of expertise, she imparts her knowledge in various courses spanning multiple curriculums. These include Pain and Anxiety Management, Dental Radiography, Dental Hygiene Internship, and Capstone, offered in both the Bachelor of Science Dental Hygiene and Bachelor of Science degree completion programs. Irina also assumed the role of course director in Instructional Strategies in Dental Hygiene and Advanced Dental Hygiene Educational Theory for the Master of Dental Hygiene program. As a Clinical Director for the Division of Dental Hygiene, Ms. Novopoltseva oversees student clinical experiences, ensuring their successful development and growth. In addition to teaching and service, she practices clinical dental hygiene at the Ohio State Dental faculty Practice where she serves the dental needs of the community. 

Research Interests

Ms. Novopoltseva’s research interests focus the collaborative clinical practices between dental and dental hygiene students, pain management, and curriculum development. 

Clinical Interests

Clinical interests include the development of evidence-based skills evaluations for undergraduate dental hygiene students, oral radiography, and promotion of professionalism and ethics.
