In November 2024, Dean Carroll Ann Trotman hosted the college’s first Shared Values Awards for faculty and staff.

Lasers have become commonplace in our culture, in everything from barcode scanners at the grocery to Darth Vader’s laser saber in Star Wars. Lasers are increasingly being used in dentistry, as well.

The College of Dentistry’s Commitment to Access Resources and Education program, or CARE, has received a new home within the Office of Community Outreach and Education.

Ante Dejanovic isn’t one of those small-town transplants who doesn’t like “the big city.” Originally from a community of just a few thousand people in Northeast Ohio, he came to Ohio State and immediately fell in love with the energy on campus.

Many of the skills needed to be a good dental hygienist—including patience, attention to detail, critical thinking, and others—are the same skills embodied in effective leaders.
