Alumni Recognized During the Ohio Dental Association’s Annual Session
Thomas Matanzo, ’85 DDS, was awarded the 2022 Joseph P. Crowley Distinguished Dentist Award, which is the ODA’s highest honor. Dr. Matanzo was recognized for his decades of leadership in organized dentistry, which includes serving as a past president of the Ohio Dental Association and in numerous roles with the American Dental Association.
The ODA's Achievement Award was presented to Kenneth Brandt, '74 DDS. He was recognized for his involvement with organized dentistry and his efforts to create and maintain a program that helps veterans in need of dental care. The N. Wayne Hiatt Rising Star Award was presented to Natasha Sheridan, '13 DDS. She was recognized for her leadership in organized dentistry and her commitment to volunteerism within the community and the profession.
The college's Dental Alumni Society (DAS) also presented annual awards during the ODA's Annual Session. The Distinguished Alumni Award was presented to Richard Scheetz, '80 DDS; '85 MS, for his service and leadership in the advancement of dentistry and dental health. Katelyn Cody, '17 DDS, received the Young Alumni Award for her achievements that enhance perceptions of the dental profession and serve the local community, and Danielle Krebs, '08 BA, MA, received the Dental Hygiene Alumni Award for her outstanding service and contributions to the development of the dental hygiene profession.
