College Hosts 41st Annual Research Day: Friday, February 28

The college's 41st annual Research Day event will showcase the research conducted by dental and dental hygiene students, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, residents, and faculty. An array of oral and poster presentations will offer a comprehensive perspective on the college's many research initiatives.

Each year, the event kicks off with a faculty researcher's presentation, followed by a distinguished lecture from a renowned oral health researcher.

Faculty Presenter: Tammy Duangthip, DDS, MSc, PhD is an Associate Professor of Pediatric Dentistry and a researcher in the areas of caries management, the use of fluorides, silver diamine fluoride, and community dental care. She is the author of more than 100 articles in peer-reviewed international journals, and she serves as a Specialty Chief Editor in Pediatric Dentistry for Frontiers in Dental Medicine.

Distinguished Lecturer: Donald Chi, DDS, PhD is a Professor of Oral Health Sciences and Associate Dean for Research at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. He also holds the Lloyd and Kay Chapman Endowed Chair for Oral Health. As a board certified pediatric dentist, Dr. Chi's research focuses on children’s oral health, with the goal of eliminating inequities and improving the oral health of vulnerable populations. He has published more than 130 peer-reviewed journal articles, and he serves as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry which promotes the highest standard of education, practice, and research in all aspects of dentistry for children.
