ADA Selects College as National GKAS Kickoff Site
The American Dental Association (ADA) has selected the College of Dentistry as the site for its national Give Kids a Smile (GKAS) kickoff event held Friday, February 2.
The college competed against other dental schools nationwide for this honor, and was chosen in part because of its history of successful Give Kids a Smile events. Since 2012, the college has hosted biannual events that provided dental treatments for 1,100 children in Ohio, with a total of more than $318,000 in free dental care.
Remarking on the event, Dean Patrick Lloyd said, "This national kickoff gives us another opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children throughout Ohio who need the help we are able to provide. We are pleased and proud to have been chosen for this honor."
The kickoff begins on Thursday, February 1, with a reception for honored guests that will include leaders from the American Dental Association and the Ohio Dental Association, as well as representatives from The Ohio State University and the State of Ohio.
