Canise Bean, DMD, MPH, Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

Dr. Canise Bean is a faculty member in the Division of General Practice and Materials Science, and she is the Director of the Office of Community Education. 

She was recently honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the Forest City Dental Society of Cleveland, Ohio. The society was formed in 1957, and it is now a chapter of the National Dental Association. 

From 1987-88, Dr. Bean served as the first female president of the society, which includes more than 80 minority dentists and specialists in the Cleveland area. She received the Lifetime Achievement Award for her dedication to education and patient care, as well as her success in creating and implementing innovative oral health improvement programs for underserved adults and children in Ohio.

Dr. Bean's other honors include induction as a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the International College of Dentists.
