Do-Gyoon Kim, MS, PhD, Receives President's Research Excellence "Catalyst" Award

A Professor and Research Program Director in the Division of Orthodontics, Dr. Do-Gyoon Kim's research was recently recognized with a $199K award from Ohio State's President's Research Excellence Program (PRE). With the goal of growing its research and innovation enterprise, the university's Office of Knowledge Enterprise developed the PRE and its "catalyst" grants to support cross- and inter-disciplinary projects that "pursue large-scale, high-impact research that addresses emerging or existing challenges of national and international societal importance."

Dr. Kim's award-winning project is titled "The Role of Bone Health in Psychological Stress." His areas of research expertise include the mechano-biology of osteoporosis, the viscoelastic mechanics of bone, degenerative joint disease, and bone tissue engineering.
