Han Wins ADA/DENTSPLY Award

Han was chosen to represent the College of Dentistry after winning top prize in the Graduate Student Award category during the college’s Research Day this past spring

College of Dentistry student Byungdo Brian Han won third place during the 2014 ADA/DENTSPLY Student Clinician Research Award Program on October 11 in San Antonio, Texas.  His poster, "Fenretinide Perturbs Focal Adhesion Kinase’s ECM Interactive and Cell Signaling Capacities," won in the basic science category.  Han is the first College of Dentistry student to win this award since 1997.

Seventy-two student clinicians participated in this year’s program, representing research conducted across 39 countries. Han, a fourth-year DDS/PhD student who conducts research in the lab of faculty member Susan Mallery DDS, PhD lab in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, was chosen to represent the College of Dentistry after winning top prize in the Graduate Student Award category during the college’s Research Day this past spring.
