Melissa Drum, DDS, MS, Appointed as ABE Director and Examiner
Dr. Melissa Drum, an associate professor in the Division of Endodontics, was recently appointed as a director and examiner for the American Board of Endodontics (ABE). Elected by ABE voting members, these positions include two consecutive three-year terms of service. In this role, Dr. Drum will write and conduct ABE certification examinations that include written exams, case portfolios, and oral examinations.
Throughout her career, Dr. Drum has held a number of leadership roles that include serving as chair of the American Association of Endodontists Educational Affairs Committee; vice-president of the Ohio Association of Endodontists; and as a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Endodontics and a member of the Scientific Advisory Board. She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.
John Nusstein, DDS, MS, the Chair of the Division of Endodontics, said, "It's quite an honor to be selected by the ABE as a director and examiner. It shows that Dr. Drum is held in high esteem by her colleagues. We are very proud of her."
