Dr. Matthew Messina Receives Joseph P. Crowley Distinguished Dentist Award
Dr. Matthew Messina, an Associate Professor-Clinical in the Division of Restorative and Prosthetic Dentistry, was recently honored with the Joseph P. Crowley Distinguished Dentist Award, which is the highest honor given by the Ohio Dental Association.
Named after Dr. Joseph P. Crowley, an Ohio State College of Dentistry alumnus and past president of the American Dental Association, the award recognizes an Ohio dental professional who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to the advancement of the dental profession through organized dentistry.
Dr. Messina currently serves as Director of Ohio State's Upper Arlington Dental Clinic and Dental Oncology Clinic. After graduating first in his class from the College of Dentistry in 1987, he completed a General Practice Residency at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He then established a private practice, serving as a general dentist in the Cleveland area for more than 30 years.
