Monica Schneider, DDS, MS, PhD, to Serve as Assistant Dean of Curriculum Innovation and Special Initiatives
Dr. Monica Schneider earned her DDS degree from Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University in Lima, Peru, followed by an MS degree in orthodontics from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. She later earned a PhD in Health Professions Education at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore, Maryland, where she serves as a clinical associate professor in the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry; director of the Dental Biomedical Sciences MS program; and assistant dean for Admissions and Recruitment in the School of Graduate Studies.
Dr. Schneider has also served as a course director and has taught extensively at both the pre-doctoral and graduate levels. She has received numerous teaching and research awards and currently serves on the Associated American Dental Schools Application Service Advisory Committee for the American Dental Education Association.
As an assistant dean in the college, Dr. Schneider will work with the dean on administrative initiatives that include accreditation; integration of novel pedagogies within the curriculum; and the expansion of oral health care services throughout Ohio. Her appointment is effective November 3, 2025.
