New Health Outreach Mobile Experience (H.O.M.E.) Coach Will Expand Dental Care Across Ohio

The second coach that arrived last fall. It has already traveled to southeast Ohio to provide care to schoolchildren. A third coach is planned for 2027.

The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is growing its H.O.M.E. (Health Outreach Mobile Experience) Coach program with a third mobile coach arriving in early 2027. This will help increase our outreach to more people across Ohio, especially in rural areas where access to dental care is limited.

Our first coach arrived in 2014. It serves thousands of children in Columbus City Schools.

Since the first H.O.M.E. Coach launched in 2005, the program has brought dental care and oral health education to thousands of children. In addition to providing care, the H.O.M.E. Coach program gives dental students experience working in communities that need dental services the most.

Each year, our dental providers provide care to thousands of children in Ohio. With a third Coach, the program will help even more Ohioans get the care they need.
