Ohio Dental Association (ODA) Foundation Gives Scholarships to Dental Students

The Ohio Dental Association Foundation recently awarded scholarships to nine College of Dentistry students. Scholarship recipients must have engaged in volunteer activities, have financial need, and demonstrate academic excellence.

Most are active members of the American Student Dental Association and are committed to continued involvement in organized dentistry.

Throughout the past decade, the Foundation’s scholarship gifts to the college’s dental students have totaled nearly $420,000. In 2024, ODA scholarships in the amount of $26,000 were given to the following students:

  • McKenna Bockrath (D2), Dental Student Scholarship: given to deserving D2, D3, and D4 students who are Ohio residents;
  • Fiona Chambers (D4), Dr. James F. Mercer Leadership Scholarship: recognizes leadership and accomplishments;
  • Matthew Fazio (D3), Dental Student Scholarship: given to deserving D2, D3, and D4 students who are Ohio residents;
  • Natalie Haikal (D3), Dental Student Scholarship: given to deserving D2, D3, and D4 students who are Ohio residents;
  • Tyler Klika (D3), Dental Student Scholarship: given to deserving D2, D3, and D4 students who are Ohio residents;
  • Abigail Musgrave (D3), Dr. E. Karl Schneider II Humanitarian Scholarship: recognizes commitment to improving communities through humanitarian efforts;
  • Reagan Newton (D2), Dental Student Scholarship: given to deserving D2, D3, and D4 students who are Ohio residents;
  • Ellen Peters (D4), Dr. Kevin Laing Fund Scholarship: given to students who come from or intend to practice in rural or underserved communities;
  • Shivani Tumukuntala (D4), Forward Ever Scholarship: honors leadership in organized dentistry.
