Ohio Senate and House Recognize College of Dentistry

"During this landmark year, the administration, faculty, staff, students, and alumni can take pride in their contributions to the school’s distinguished heritage,” read the Resolution from the House.

On Wednesday, April 27 Senators Jim Hughes, Kevin Bacon, and Charleta B. Tavares in the Ohio Senate and Representative Michael Stinziano in the Ohio House of Representatives recognized the College of Dentistry's 125th anniversary during Sessions at the State Capital. “During this landmark year, the administration, faculty, staff, students, and alumni can take pride in their contributions to the school’s distinguished heritage,” read the Resolution from the House.

Accepting the Resolutions on behalf of the college, Dean Patrick M. Lloyd said, “As the only state-supported dental school in the state, on the campus of a major medical center, the College of Dentistry educates more than 60% of Ohio’s dentists. Our graduates come from and return to every county in the state because they have a commitment to serve where they know they are most needed. Educated by faculty who are second to none, our graduates leave the college prepared to provide whatever level of dental care is needed. Your recognition today reinforces our excitement about spending the next 125 years carrying out Ohio State’s mission of advancing the well-being of the people of Ohio.”
