Paul Casamassimo, DDS, MS, Receives ADA's Norton M. Ross Research Award for Excellence
Dr. Paul Casamassimo is a Professor Emeritus in the college's Division of Pediatric Dentistry, and he is a member of the dental team at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
A longtime advocate of children's health and a researcher on topics related to pediatric dental care, Dr. Casamassimo will receive the Norton M. Ross Award for Excellence in Clinical Research presented by the American Dental Association at its annual meeting on October 20 in Atlanta. The award was established in memory of Dr. Norton M. Ross, a dentist and pharmacologist whose contributions helped to elevate clinical research and scientific standards nationally.
As a recipient of this award, Dr. Casamassimo is recognized for his "significant contributions in clinical investigations that have advanced the diagnosis, treatment, and/or prevention of craniofacial, oral, and dental diseases."
Dr. Casamassimo is a former chair of the college's Division of Pediatric Dentistry, and he is also the former Chief of Pediatric Dentistry at Nationwide Children's Hospital. A Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, he has also served as a past president of the Ohio Dental Association and as a director of the American Academy of Pediatric Oral Health Research and Policy Center at the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
