- Question Where were you born? And where did you grow up?
-
Answer
I was born and raised in Barnesville, Ohio, which is about two hours east of Columbus near the Ohio River and Wheeling, West Virginia. Barnesville is a quiet, close-knit community of about 4,000 and a place where everyone knows each other. The last weekend of September, we host the Barnesville Pumpkin Festival, celebrating all things pumpkin! The four-day event attracts about 100,000 visitors and sets some records. In 2017, our pumpkin weigh-off champion broke the state record for the largest pumpkin grown at 2,150 pounds.

- Question As an Ohio University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences and Applied Management, what did you plan to do when you graduated?

Answer
I started as a biology major at Ohio University. However, the COVID-19 pandemic happened right in the middle of my education. As I was experiencing my course work through a computer screen, I realized I just wasn’t where I wanted to be. I was taking management courses alongside my biology course work and I enjoyed the management more. That was when I decided to create my degree in Natural Science and Applied Management, combining my knowledge of the sciences with my passion for management.
- Question What led you to a career at Ohio State’s College of Dentistry?
