Students, Faculty, and Staff “Give Kids a Smile”

The College of Dentistry hosted its 8th Give Kids a Smile Day on Saturday, February 5, with faculty-supervised students providing free dental exams, cleanings, extractions, fillings and crowns to underserved children. Part of the American Dental Association’s access-to-care program, the event is held at the college each February and October. Over the course of the semi-annual event, dental care has been  provided to more than 900 children.

“It is a rewarding feeling each event to see dental students, faculty and staff of the College of Dentistry come together for the sake of the kids", said fourth-year dental student Becca Bartlett, the lead organizer for the last two events. “It is a combined effort from all ends, and Give Kids a Smile would not be possible without each helping hand.”
