Student members of the college's Armed Forces Club are extending their services beyond campus through a monthly community initiative called Treats 4 the Streets. This event allows students to support individuals experiencing homelessness and financial insecurity while also building the skills and awareness needed to better serve veterans' oral health needs.

Rachelle Nowlin, DMD, Armed Forces Club advisor and assistant professor-clinical in the Division of Restorative and Prosthetic Dentistry, introduced the club to Treats 4 the Streets after learning about the program through the Wexner Medical Center Veteran Employee Resource Group. At each event, students complete a brief screening and provide information on how attendees can receive care at the college. According to Dr. Nowlin, "these events are impactful for our future military dentists."
