Amanda Swanson, DDS, MS, MPH, Receives Caswell A. Evans Award

Dr. Amanda Swanson graduated from the college in August with a Master of Science in Dentistry degree and a certificate in pediatric dentistry, along with a Master of Public Health degree from Ohio State’s College of Public Health. Her graduate work included projects on interdisciplinary collaborative care models and novel digital workflows in pediatric dentistry. Her clinical and research interests include animal-assisted therapy, dental public health, and access to care among patients with rare diseases.

She was recently chosen as a recipient of the Caswell A. Evans Population Oral Health Post-Professional Student Award from the American Public Health Association. The award recognizes outstanding population-related oral health research or service projects, and it honors Dr. Caswell A. Evans, an oral health industry veteran and pioneer in public health. Dr. Swanson will receive the award at a ceremony in Washington, D.C., hosted by the American Public Health Association.
