Tammy Duangthip, DDS, DMD, PhD Joins Pediatric Dentistry

On January 2, 2024, Dr. Tammy Duangthip will join the college as an Associate Professor in the Division of Pediatric Dentistry. 

Dr. Duangthip's education includes a DDS degree from Chulalongkorn University (Thailand); a DMD degree from the University of Bern (Switzerland); and a PhD in dental public health from the University of Hong Kong. She currently serves as the Undergraduate Program Director in Cariology at the University of Hong Kong Faculty of Dentistry.

Throughout her career, Dr. Duangthip has published more than 50 scholarly articles in international refereed journals, including the Journal of Dental Research and the Journal of Dentistry. She also has been an invited speaker at the General Session of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), and she has served as the president-elect of the IADR's Pediatric Oral Health Research Group. Other honors include Research Excellence Awards and a Clinical Research Award from the IADR's South-East Asia Division, as well as Fellow membership in the Royal College of Dental Surgeons in Thailand and the International College of Dentists. 

As a member of the college faculty, Dr. Duangthip will assume didactic teaching responsibilities; conduct research on issues related to oral health; and direct the college's research program in community oral health and dental public health.
