Two Join AMR Task Force

Faculty members, Dr. Peter Larsen, Chair of the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Anesthesiology, and Dr. John Walters, Professor of Periodontology, have been selected to serve on an Ohio State task force that will explore options for creating a university-wide program to address Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). 

The task force is led by Professor Lonnie King, DVM, MS, MPA, Special Assistant to the Provost, and Dean Emeritus from the College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. King was recently appointed as vice-chair of President Obama's Advisory Council to Combat Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria. In this role, he will work with Ohio State's task force to examine antibiotic usage in agriculture and the health sciences that may contribute to the development of antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria.
