Two Receive Staff Awards
Mark Dawson Award for Excellence
Ms. Terri Pierce, a Clinic Coordinator in the Division of Restorative Science and Prosthodontics, was honored as the recipient of the Mark Dawson Award for Excellence, which recognizes outstanding contributions made by a staff member who significantly facilitates the mission of the college. The award includes a cash prize of $500.00.
Ms. Pierce received the award at the Dean's Appreciation Reception held December 10. Presenting the award, Dean Lloyd said, "In the nomination letters for Terri, she was described as 'the motor that helps to drive the clinic,' and she was said to be 'energetic and happy, a tireless worker,' and 'a warm person with a big heart.' "
He added, "As I read through these nomination letters, I was so pleased to see how deserving Terri is of this award that recognizes excellence. It is a privilege to have such outstanding employees as members of our team."
Outstanding Staff Award
Ms. Erica Johnson, an Information Associate in the Predoctoral Clinics, has won the 2015 Outstanding Staff Award that honors an employee whose actions inspire others to excellence in achievement and performance in the workplace. The award includes a cash prize of $500.00.
Dean Lloyd presented the award at the Dean's Appreciation Reception on December 10. He said, "Those who nominated Erica for this award said she is 'dedicated to our patients and their care,' and that she 'always follows up with patients to make sure they're satisfied.' Other nomination letters said she is 'respectful of everyone in the college,' and that she 'takes on tasks with enthusiasm and is a leader with a professional attitude.' "
The dean congratulated Ms. Johnson, saying, "We celebrate the dedication and accomplishments of our staff members at this reception each year because we are committed to recognizing outstanding performance in our college. Thank you for helping to set the standard for all of us."
