The annual event marks the beginning of the professional educational experience of the dental hygiene Class of 2020 and the dental Class of 2022. This year's DDS class includes 120 students: 104 from Ohio; 66 female students and 54 males. The dental hygiene class is made up of 30 female students and one male student. All but one are from Ohio.

Welcoming the new students and their guests, Dean Lloyd said, "This event is a moment for us all to feel proud and excited about. For our new classes of dental hygiene and dental students, this is the beginning of your education in our College of Dentistry, and it is your introduction into what it means to be a dental professional. I welcome you to our college, and I look forward to the special years we will spend together!"
