Commenting on the award, Mr. Crowell said, "I am incredibly humbled that the scholarship committee chose me as the 2019 Veler Scholar. I would like to thank my wife and children for inspiring me to get to this point. I look forward to using this award to serve my community and the college throughout my career. The gratitude I feel cannot be overstated."
Dean Patrick Lloyd added his remarks. "One of the many outstanding attributes that contributed to Wyatt's selection as the Veler Scholarship recipient is his gratitude for all that he has been given throughout his life. The scholarship committee members were particularly impressed by his genuine appreciation for his family, his upbringing, and his classmates who have willingly helped and supported him as a student in our college." Lloyd continued, "Wyatt has all the attributes we look for in a Veler Scholar, and we expect great things from him. I am pleased to welcome him to the special group of students who are benefiting from the Velers' generous gift to our college."
