How to Apply

The Ohio State University College of Dentistry's application deadline is October 2, 2017.

Interviews are scheduled for 2017-2018 positions as follows:

All applications for the General Dentistry Residency program must be submitted through the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) PASS program (Postdoctoral Application Support Service). ADEA PASS simplifies the application process by allowing you to complete one standardized application, rather than individual applications to each program. There is a fee for this service.

All residency applicants are also required to register with the National Matching Service. The Match is used by applicants and programs to determine the final placement of applicants into positions after the application and evaluation process is completed. After the Match: ALL accepted new residents will need to provide immunization information as follows by having blood drawn at a lab and titers done:

  • Hepatitis B Surface antibody titers
  • MMR titers (measles, mumps, rubella)
  • Varicella Zoster (Chicken Pox) titers
  • PPD (TB skin test) – or medical verification of negative status with chest x-ray results if PPD is positive

You must also pass a drug test during orientation and complete various other hospital-mandated testing requirements prior to orientation.

Prospective International Applicants (this does NOT apply to Canadian dental school graduates):

We are NOT able to accept internationally trained dentists or non-US citizens for salaried first-year positions due to funding requirement imposed by various federal, state and hospital programs. Unfortunately, we are also NOT able to accept internationally trained dentists for salaried first-year positions who have completed some postdoctoral training in the US but have NOT obtained a US or Canadian DDS or DMD degree.
