Prospective Students

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Certificate/MS Option

Welcome to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Ohio State

Our four-year program offers substantial experience in the full scope of both major hospital maxillofacial procedures and outpatient clinical surgery and anesthesia for adults and children.  Oral and maxillofacial surgery inpatient experience is gained at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, both of which are level 1 trauma centers. Residents experience outpatient care primarily at the College of Dentistry clinics. OSU OMS residents are required to complete both a comprehensive didactic curriculum to parallel the clinical experience and an original research project of his or her design. Residents may expand on the research and enroll in the Graduate School to obtain a MS degree.

The program offers a 12 month pre-residency non-categorical internship in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
