Prospective Students

Residency Benefits and Costs

Residents are appointed as Graduate Teaching Associates. This appointment provides a stipend of $10,500 during academic year 2017-18. In addition, half of the in-state and non-resident tuition will be waived. This support can be renewed annually (to a maximum of three years) depending on availability of funds and on positive teaching outcomes as reviewed annually by the program director. U.S. citizens may be eligible to apply for Ohio residency status after their fourth semester at Ohio State.

Residents must provide certain laboratory and clinical instrumentation. You will be given a list of specific items such as an intra-oral camera, one semi-adjustable articulator and other instruments. The approximate cost for all can vary. Also, it is highly recommended that you have your own laptop computer.

Additionally, attendance at some national meetings is desirable; travel and per diem costs are your responsibility. However, travel to the Annual American College of Prosthodontists and American Association for Dental Research meeting to present project research findings is typically paid by the program.
