Prospective Students

Virtual Advising: GPA

To be considered for an interview, you must have at least a 3.0 overall GPA and 3.0 science GPA.

Please note, we consider the GPA that AADSAS calculates without + or -. For example, an A- would be calculated into the GPA as an A and a B+ would be calculated as a B.

What courses are considered for my science GPA?

AADSAS considers all undergraduate, graduate, and cumulative courses identified on your transcript as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math and Other Science is used in computing this GPA. Social science courses are not considered in the science GPA. For example, Sociology and Psychology courses do not apply toward the science GPA.

What if I completed a graduate degree: which GPA is considered?

We will look at both your undergraduate and graduate GPA.

What if my GPA is below a 3.0?

If your undergraduate GPA is below a 3.0, your application will not be considered for an interview. However, if you complete a graduate degree with a GPA of 3.5 or better, the 3.5+ graduate GPA will make your application eligible for an interview.

Will my Autumn 2019 classes impact my GPA?

No. The only grades considered are courses that are completed and reflected on your transcript at the time of application.

Can I complete the Academic Update for the AADSAS application?

You can complete the Academic Update from mid-November to February, however this is after our last interview invitation and therefore will not change your admission standing.
