Student Research Program Scholarships
All dental students and dental hygiene students engaged in research are encouraged to apply to the Student Research Program. If you are accepted into the SRP, you are eligible for the following financial support:
Wallace Scholarship. Through the William Wallace Scholarship Fund, a nonrenewable Wallace Scholarship is awarded to a dentistry student based on outstanding achievement in the Student Research Program. The recipient of the Wallace Scholarship is selected at the end of his/her second or third year by the Director for Student Research based on the criteria established by this award.
SRP Scholarship. Starting in 2017 there will be changes as to how the student research program is administered. All dental students and dental hygiene students will be eligible to participate in the program. Any student that has an abstract accepted at the AADR/IADR or a similar national conference will be eligible for travel support. An annual scholarship* of $2500 will be provided to incoming students and to students completing their first year. The funding for these stipends will be partially supported by the Barlow Fellowships. There will be a limit of 20 annual stipends provided to first and second year dental and dental hygiene students, though there is no limit to students who may participate in the SRP or may apply for travel support. This scholarship is available to students in their first and second years. Admitted students will apply the spring before the start of their D1 or DH1 years to conduct research the summer before they begin their respective programs. D2 and DH2 students will apply the spring of their first year to conduct research the summer before the start of their second year.
