Why I chose The Ohio State University College of Dentistry:

I chose The Ohio State University College of Dentistry because it is a proven institution full of world class people, past and present. My dad graduated from the OSU College of Dentistry and my mom was a dental hygiene graduate here as well, it was a no brainer.

Why I wanted to become a dentist:

My dad always said the best part of his job was making people smile and that has always stuck with me. Dentistry allows me to be a servant leader and at the same time gives me the opportunity to be the husband and father to my family I always envisioned. It's a mighty fine combination if you ask me.

Favorite Class:

Operative Dent 1, this is your first hands on dentistry where your foundation of drilling begins.

3 things people should know about me:

  1. I hail from Ohio but went to undergrad at the University of Illinois where I was a four year starting middle linebacker on the football team.
  2. I am getting married to my high school sweetheart, Madison, in July of 2017.
  3. I am proudly one of the few on campus that don't root for Ohio State on Saturdays. Go Illini.

What I enjoy doing outside of dental school:

I am an avid outdoorsman. Any chance I get away from Postle you can find me in a duck blind, fishing on the lake or somewhere thinking about it.

Best advice for succeeding in dental school:

A lot of people constantly compare themselves to others, just be confident in your own ability and work hard. Reaching out to upperclassmen helps out a lot as well, they're always willing to help. Lastly, having an escape away from school is crucial.

What do you wish you would have known as an incoming D1?

It's really not as bad as everyone makes it seem. All about time management.
